Should You Hire A Landscape Professional?

What Is A Professional Landscaper?

When people inquire about landscape maintenance, we ask them, “Have you ever had a professional landscaper before?” Your answer is probably the same as theirs; no. You then will probably ask, “What is a professional landscaper?” In our opinion, a professional landscaper can be characterized as 1) knowledgeable, 2) trustworthy, 3) reliable and 4) great communication skills to name a few. Because we are in your backyard and on your turf, our desire is that you’re not only comfortable with our crew, but that you enjoy interacting with our team on a regular basis. In this article we’re going to explain our ethos as a professional landscape company.

Knowledgeable

To kick things off, we believe that if we do your landscape maintenance, then we should be experts in our field. Our crews, as well as our office staff, should be able to answer all your questions. If you have irrigation questions, then you want to have confidence that you’ve hired the right people.  If you have a paver or artificial turf question, then you need information to make the right choice for you.

If you have weed abatement questions, then we’d better be able to explain, then abate, your weeds. If you have drainage problems, then the information you receive from us should be top-notch. If you want/have a pond/water feature, then we ought to provide you assurance that we’ll do a great job. That’s what we mean by professional; we should be experts in the given areas that we perform.

Trustworthy

We’ve all been burned by a contractor…and it stinks. Contractors, including landscape companies, have a particularly bad wrap. Whether it’s they don’t show up on time (or at all), or they need extra money to finish the job, or they do a poor job, or you’re not comfortable around them, there’s always some reason they aren’t trusted. One thing we strive to do is employ trustworthy employees.

We’re slow to hire and quick to fire, as well as drug test & background check every employee. If our current crew senses that they are the wrong fit, then we spend time searching for the right fit. If you’re going to receive landscape maintenance, then you want to know that we can be trusted. Think about it; we’re on your property, we can see inside your house, we interact with you, and more.

Reliable

Being reliable is another way of saying that someone can count on you. We are huge believers that if your maintenance provider is not reliable, then we can’t be trusted. As a consumer, you want to know that your landscaper follows through on all of their promises. Learning if someone is reliable starts with your initial phone call and is intertwined in everything that happens thereafter. Our goal, from the first phone call and thereafter, is to be a company that’s dependable.

Great Communication

The definition of communication is “the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs.” Our desire as a professional landscape company is to accel at this. Whether it’s over the phone, using email, in-person, or so-on, we want our clients to receive fantastic communication. We also want to communicate with you however it is most convenient for you. Some of our clients prefer the phone, while others email, and others text. Please convey how you prefer to be communicated with and that’s what we’ll do.

That’s A Wrap

To put a wrap on this article, we believe that professionals are held to higher standards, and that’s what we strive to do. Equally, we want clients who desire higher standards. If you read this article and the things we listed didn’t resonate with you, then we may not be the right company for you. On the other hand, if knowledge, trustworthiness, reliability, and great communication are important to you, then we may be a good fit for you. Thank you very much for reading and have a great day!
