Guardian Landscape’s August and September project has been to rebuild this Paver Patio. The original install was done incorrectly. After only 4 months, the border was already crumbling. The pavers were not level and the water was not draining properly. The water would build up along the edge of the house and, over time, cause damage to the stucco and foundation. Matt advised the client to call the company who had installed the patio to correct the problem, as this failure should be covered under warranty. The client stated that they understood this to be a warranty issue, but that they just didn’t want to deal with that company anymore. Guardian Landscape began work on reconstructing the patio. After removing all the pavers, we hauled away about 50 tons worth of native soil and a very small amount of base material the previous company had installed. We started from scratch with new ABC base, compacting it thoroughly. We then screeded sand and laid new pavers, securing all exposed edges with a snap-edge border rather than using mortar. Now our clients have a Paver Patio they can enjoy for the lifetime of their home.
