Quaking Aspen
The Quaking Aspen is an absolute must-have if your landscape allows. Its white trunk with dark spots is stunning, and with its green leaves, makes for a great contrast. To top it off, there are multiple trunks (which are awesome looking) and the leaves turn sunshine gold in Fall. This tree does require a large space, as it grows 40 feet tall and 10 feet wide.

Because Aspen Trees are show-stoppers, you’ll want them planted in prominent locations. Due to their mature size, you do need to pick the locations carefully so that they have room to grow without suffocating other shrubs & trees. Once you pick the location, keep the root ball moist most of the time so that those roots grow quickly. Don’t forget to install tree stakes so that it doesn’t get blown over during infancy.
The Aspen Tree, like a majority of the trees that we recommend, are very easy to care for. Besides an occasional pruning during winter, prune out any dead pieces and/or ‘wild hairs’ throughout the season is a great idea. An all-purpose fertilizer once per year is always an added bonus. Besides these things, enjoy this beautiful tree!
